Brooke made a great video, she has style, flare, on camera personality etc.  I agree with these comments though, her recipes ARE NOT GOURMET!  We can not redefine a word just because we like her and she can make a nice video!  Imagine if I held a contest and asked for the best groomed poodle and then awarded the prize to the best groomed german shepard.  Would that be fair to the poodle groomers?

Respectfully you are wrong with your assertion that gourmet is about blending flavors to create an enjoyable eating experience.  It that was the case, ANY recipe could be considered gourmet.  Have you done any five star dining lately?  I guarantee you will not see any Brookes recipes on the menus!

Like Brooke as we might, the fact that she won a $5,000.00 prize in a gourmet category for a non gourmet entry still remains unfair.  (not by her, but Vitamix) My guesss is that Brooke herself is embarrased about this.

 

I was personally inspired by her recipes. Not all of us are raw vegans. I appreciated her family friendly meals with a gourmet flare. I think she is a great representative for Vitamix appealing to a broad audience. Too bad some people are jealous of another persons success. 

I signed back on here to see the contest results, is this for real???  Be Cheeky won the best gourmet?  WHY? What did I miss?  I think I need to go back to the dictionary and look up the meaning of gourmet?  I thought for sure the Lobster Bisque was going to win, what happened?
