Was watching telly waiting for Lewis to start and just as the adverts came on I suddenly thought I'm going to make some ice cream.
Off I trotted, grabbed the Vita-Mix recipe file and found the Strawberry Yoghurt Freeze.
As usual I changed the recipe just a bit. So here it is:
It was tangy and gorgeous. Not too sweet and sickly like some flavoured ice creams are.
Might throw a few dark chocolate squares in next time.
Also must remember to use the 64 oz container next time as there was a bit too much stuff for the 32 oz one to handle.
LOL I've been experimenting with various nut milks lately and mixed a almond cashew soy hemp milk that was really good..... but more amazing is coconut milk..... very yummy.....
Just buy a coconut and pour the milk out and test to see if its moldy or not, then take out the flesh....
Put the flesh aka Nut into the vitamix with the milk and 2 to 4 tbsp of extra vigin coconut oil with a little bit of agave and a few dates and a pinch of sea salt and a half to a full teaspoon of pure vaniila extract.... and 32 to 64 oz of water (preference)
Very yummy.... and you can heat in a pot with cacao powder to make a rich creamy chocolate drink!
U can make this in a 32 oz or 64 oz container depending how thick of a drink u want..... strain if you want with a nut bag or enjoy it how it is..... experiment with it.....
I make this for a snack in the afternoon, dessert, even breakfast!
half banana
1 pouch sugar free hot chocolate mix
2 T flax meal
2 T oatmeal
about 8-9 raw almonds
2 T chunk natural peanut butter
splash of milk (any kind you like)
ice
start on low move to high. less ice will make it more of a smoothie and more will result in ice cream.
It tastes sinful but has great ingredients. Keeps you full for hours too!
Enjoy!
