I was in the mood for a dessert smoothie and threw this together. Boy, was it delicious. Especially for anyone who loves chocolate milk, chocolate-covered bananas, etc.! I'm sure it isn't a new concoction, but it is just so good that it should be posted again!
1/2 cup coconut water
1/2 cup almond milk
2 frozen bananas
1 tsp raw cocoa (I used Hershey's unsweetened cocoa powder)
3 tsps organic shredded unsweetened coconut
5 oz baby spinach (or just pack it in)
Ice cubes optional
Enjoy!
I tried the Healthy Chocolate Pudding recipe in the VitaMix today and it was REALLY, REALLY Good!!!! Who would think that you could make an amazing chocolate pudding with Avocados and Almond milk?!
Shannonlee had posted the link to the San Francisco Examiner, June 18 article. I didn't know if it was okay to copy and paste it or not, but if you go to Shannonlee's profile I'm sure you can find it. It's called Healthy Chocolate I think.
Find it here: http://community.vitamix.com/_HEALTHY-CHOCOLATE-recipe/blog/397863/22442.html
Anyway, it's worth the trouble to find it and try it, 'cuz it was amazing! & it says you can make it in a blender.....
Oh, I used Blueberries instead of Raspberries. & in my VitaMix, it only took about 30 seconds, not a whole minute like a smoothie.
Just want to put a note here on a few items that I found really go together for better health.
1. The VitMix 5200
2. A Book titled " World's Healthiest Foods"
3. A Book titiled "The Liver Cleansing Diet"
4. A Book titiles "Raw Juices Can Save Your Life"
These things in combination have helped me become more healthy. While searching for ways to strengthen my body against my chemical sensitivity, I found "The Liver Cleansing Diet" and noticed a difference after the 8 week eating plan. Once I saw the benefits of eating so well, I ordered that author's "Raw Juices Can Save Your Life" and loved the fact that it gives particular conditions and the fruits/vegetables that are needed to combat that ailment. I also saw a difference from juicing. It was amazing.
After we bought our VitaMix, I was able to juice the whole fruit/vegetable, (peel, seeds and all!) and get even more nutrition and healing benefits from it.
Recently, my friend who is a Certified Nutritional Counselor, told me about a book she found titiled "World's Healthiest foods. Once I saw the book, I had to have it. I will not go on and on here about how great this book is, but you can go to www.WHF.org and see it for yourself. I started on the Eating Plan that is in the book, and I am doing it for health benefits, not to lose weight, but in 1 day I lost an inch from my belly pouch! I guess cutting out certain things for a day cut out my belly bloating or something. I don't know what it did, but I am really glad!
If you are interested in looking up the other books, you can find them at www.liverdoctor.com.
Here is a tasty Smoothie recipe for you to try for breakfast:

2 Cups Chocolate Almond Milk
2 bananas
2 TBSP ground flax seed
2 TBSP almond butter
4 ice cubes (optional, just makes it colder)
Put it all in the VitaMix on 10/high for 1 minute, then enjoy.
Chocolate Bliss:
This group found a way to add healthy chocolate to their Vita-Mix smoothies. They use and feature the Vita-Mix machine where they put raw superfood drink mix, "Chocolate Bliss," into their smoothies. How creative! Great Job!

I am always on the lookout for the words HEALTHY & CHOCOLATE together in a recipe. Well who isn’t right? It is rare you ever find those two words together but alas~ I have found one!
I came across this recipe in my search and I wanted to share with all of you. It’s a recipe from the June 18th Cleveland Examiner (Examiner.com) and it IS MADE RIGHT IN YOUR VITA-MIX.
It’s a healthy quick treat you make with raw cacao powder, which is higher in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Much more so than using regular processed cocoa. Click on the image to get to the recipe then try it at home and let me know!
